Eden Hazard wants Chelsea to secure maximum points in top-four hunt

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has said that the Blues will secure maximum points from the remaining matches as they seek to finish in the top four of the Premier League. The Blues have endured a mixed run of form since the turn of the year but they remain in contention to secure a Champions League spot for next term.

Speaking to Chelsea TV, the Belgium international said that the players were keeping a close watch on the recent north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur where both teams dropped points after a 1-1 draw. He added that his players have a ‘hard war’ to make the top four but they will ensure to pick up maximum points for the rest of the campaign, he said: “We talked together in the dressing room about Arsenal-Tottenham. Both lost two points. Top four is a hard war, because we’re not only four teams, we’re six teams. Now we have 10 games to play till the end of the season. We’ll try to take the maximum points.”

The west London outfit recently bagged a 2-1 triumph over Fulham on the road and the victory ensured that they picked up their first away points since the turn of the year. The match also witnessed Jorginho come up with a much-improved performance from recent weeks and this was appreciated by the Blues faithful, who sang his name on the stands.

Chelsea are currently two points behind Manchester United in the race for the final Champions League spot but they hold the advantage over the Red Devils with the extra game in hand. Still, the season is far from complete and Maurizio Sarri’s team have tricky matches against United and Liverpool on the road where their top-four fate could be decided. The Blues are in Europa League action against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday night.
