The manager of Galatasaray SK, Roberto Mancini, has John Terry in his list for the upcoming mid-season transfer window. It would be pretty tough to lure Terry away from Chelsea at this stage of his career, but, Mancini is ready to do that. According to the reports, he is planning to offer Terry a long deal.
Terry is going to be out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of this season and Chelsea doesn’t give its veteran players (players of the age of more than 30) a big contract extension. Roberto Mancini is looking to take advantage of that. He wants to provide Terry the job security by offering him a long deal and we should not be surprised if he succeeds in his mission of landing the 32 years old English centre-back at Turk Telekom Arena.
If Terry decides to sign for the Turkish giants, he will get the opportunity to play alongside one of his closest mates Didier Drogba again and that’s the other thing which might attract him towards Galatasaray.
However, Terry has flourished under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea this season and it doesn’t look like he will part ways with the West London Club that easily. Just a few days ago, in one of his interviews, he had hailed Mourinho and had said that he owes the Portuguese manager a lot.
Terry had said, “I am privileged to be playing under Jose again. He has helped me a lot in my career and when I had heard that he was coming back to Chelsea, you can’t imagine how happy I was.”
“I was looking to impress Jose and I am glad that I succeeded.”
Terry is close to making 400 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
