DROGBA READY FOR MLS

After playing for two different clubs in the last season, Didier Drogba is ready to make a move again this summer. According to the reports, Drogba has again got an offer from MLS and he might be on his way to USA. However, it’s clear that the Ivory Coast striker is not going to join New York Red Bulls.

Drogba had got a luring offer from MLS last year as well, but, he had rejected that offer and had opted to join the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Drogba had signed a deal of 2 and half years with Shenhua, but, he left the club only after 6 months because of some financial controversies. He managed to make his mark during his brief stay in China though. He featured for Shenhua in 11 games and netted 8 times.

After leaving Shenhua, Drogba signed for the Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray SK and continued his good form there as well. He put up some fine performances and guided Cimbom to the league title.

Drogba played a total of 11 games for Galatasaray in the last season and scored 5 goals.

In one of his interviews last year, when Drogba was asked why he rejected the MLS offer, he had said, “After spending so much time in England, I wanted to move to a place where the culture is different. That’s why; I decided to sign for Shenhua.”

“If I manage to achieve my targets here at Shenhua in the next couple of seasons, I would like to play in another league, maybe MLS.”

Drogba had been offered a huge annual salary of 10 million Dollars by MLS last year. If he had accepted that offer, he would have become the highest-paid player in MLS.
